Social media can be time-consuming and sometimes a bit overwhelming. Because of those reasons, it can quickly become a back-burner item. The value of having a social media platform becomes second place because we just don't know where to begin.

Building your Social Brand Authority requires you to know exactly who you are speaking to and what they need to hear. Here are some questions you can ask yourself:

  1. What are our current tenants like? (age, family size, etc.)
  2. What is the top 5 common request we receive?
  3. What do people in our city do on their free time?

Those are only a few of the questions you can ask yourself in order to determine your audience. Begin to create an "Audience Profile". Describe the person(s) that you will be reaching through social media.

Once you've really spent some time researching who you are going to reach and have created your "Audience Profile", you can now effectively begin to craft your message.
